I am a wife to Dan for over 46 years (I married really young) Mom to Devon & Andi and their spouses, Tiff & Lee and Gramzy to Hailie, Perrin, Kalina & Mateo. Nothing is more important than those wonderful humans! Dan & I cared for my Dad, who had Parkinson's, for 8 years until his passing 2 years ago. It was the first time we'd been footloose for a really long time. So Dan retired and we moved from Denver to Portland, Oregon! It has given us an opportunity to create relationships with our youngest grandkids like we have with our older grandkids who are in Denver.
When we got to Portland I suddenly had lots of free time on my hands! I hadn't really been able to stamp the last 2-3 years because of Dad. I rediscovered my love of stamping! A friend of mine, Cindy, had introduced stamping to me years ago after a car accident that landed me at home on disability. It saved me! Soon my Cindy & I were teaching classes and loving it! Now here I was stamping away in Portland and I decided to give Etsy a try. I was creating lots of cards, but needed an outlet to share them. Second, I love to make people smile! I know how much it makes me smile when I get a card or note from a friend and I'm sure it makes you feel good too! Just knowing that someone took the time to let me know they were thinking of me. (Hurrah, for snail mail) is an amazing feeling! Last - wouldn't it be crazy if I could make some money doing something I love? Such an awesome idea!
An unexpected perk has been the revival of my love of learning!Marketing on the internet and social media is totally new to me. There are such great learning resources available from Etsy and other shop owners that I'm taking advantage of everything available! My brain is so happy!
So when I'm not playing with my wonderful grandchildren, learning something new on my computer or exploring Oregon with Dan, you'll probably find me stamping away - with a huge smile on my face!!
Thanks for taking the time to read my story!
